Chapter summaries:
Chapter 24: After Peeta picks poisonous berries and accidentally kills fox-face, the next day Peeta and Katntiss argue about where to sleep, where to hunt, how to hunt, etc. and Katniss eventually finds a way for Peeta to hunt with her. After a bickering day they decide to sleep in the cave and Katniss finishes the day with a smooch to the kisser. At dawn, Peeta and Katniss head to Cornucopia to bait Cato in to fight. Finally 30 minutes pass and Cato appears and the fight begins. Once the fighting has just started, mysterious wolf-like creatures jump from outside of the bushes. Peeta, Cato, and Katniss rush up a tree while fighting in attempt to be safe from the dozens of beasts.

Peeta and Katniss have just won the hunger games, they get all their scars removed and fixed. Katniss learns that she must continue to pretend to be in love with Peeta if she doesn't want to get punished for the act with the berries. She gets ready to go on stage for her interview with this in mind.
Chapter 27:
With the knowledge that the Capitol might be after her and maybe even Peeta due to the berry incident that the Capitol felt humiliated them (the Capitol), Katniss answers every question from Caesar Flickerman with carefulness, as well as trying to maintain her act of being madly in love with Peeta in hopes to fool the Capitol. When Haymitch tells her that she answered them questions perfectly and that they should be safe, Peeta becomes skeptical, and she accidentally blurts that the Capitol didn't like the berry stunt, information in which Peeta was yet to learn. Peeta thus goes on to question whether Katniss loved him in the first place or if pretended it for the games and her own survival. With that, they rise, preparing to face the cameras once more.
